A long-desired free clinic is preparing to open in Lafayette County. United Neighbors Free Clinic has a goal of opening in November to serve area residents on Monday nights before expanding to Wednesdays, too, opposite the Tuesday and Thursday schedule of Dodgeville’s Community Connections Free Clinic. The project, over a year in the making, made big strides in recent months by securing a location within an existing medical center, partnering with Lafayette Hospital + Clinics and getting the blessing of county leaders. United Neighbors Free Clinic will be set up within Darlington Area Community Health Center at 435 Main St. That facility, used as a dental clinic, is part of Community Health Systems, a Beloit-based federally qualified health center.
