Authorities have confirmed that the body of a missing boater has been recovered from the Mississippi River. The man, described as being in his 60s, went missing Saturday, May 31, after a boating accident near Marquette Park in Savanna. He was one of two men involved in the incident; the other made it safely to shore. Search efforts took place over multiple days with assistance from multiple agencies, including the Illinois and Iowa Departments of Natural Resources and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. Officials confirmed Tuesday that the body recovered is that of the missing man. His identity has not yet been released publicly.
