At Nashville’s Skinny Dennis on Wednesday night (June 4), Hailey Whitters treated fans to an album launch party where she previewed tracks from her fourth studio album, Corn Queen, which was released on Friday (June 6) via Big Loud and her own imprint, Pigasus. The 35-year-old ACM winner and Grammy Award nominee described her new record as “equal parts labour and love.” “Behind the scenes, when we were making this record, there was a lot falling apart for me, both personally and professionally,” Whitters shared with the intimate audience. “But they say that a true queen holds her head high, even when her crown is slipping, and so that’s what I did.” Corn Queen serves as the long-awaited follow-up to 2022’s Raised, which featured Whitters’ country radio debut single, ”Everything She Ain’t,” that eventually cracked the Top 20 of Billboard’s Country Airplay chart.
