Platteville Police seek information about downtown altercation

Police seek information as they investigate an altercation that injured a man in Platteville. Officers responded at approximately 6:15 p.m. Wednesday to McGregor Plaza in Platteville for a report of an altercation. According to the Platteville Police Department, officers found an unconscious man at the scene. The man was transported by ambulance to Southwest Health Center before being transported to a hospital in Madison for treatment of his injuries. Police did not identify the men involved in the altercation. Police said witness accounts described a verbal argument between two men outside of a business that escalated into a physical altercation. Both parties are known to each other and police consider the altercation to be an isolated incident. Police encourage anyone who witnessed the incident to call 608-348-2313.
