On Saturday at 1:00 p.m. the Grant County Sheriff’s Office received a report of motorcycle crash with injuries, located near the 7000 block of Airport Road, in Ellenboro Township. 64-year-old John Imel of Polo, IL, was driving his motorcycle west on Airport Road. Imel failed to negotiate a sharp curve in the roadway due to heavy rain which caused Imel to have to put the motorcycle onto its side. As a result of the crash, Imel’s passenger, 64-year-old Melinda Imel of Polo, IL, suffered non-life threatening injuries and was transported to Grant Regional Health Center by Lancaster EMS. John Imel was uninjured. Imel’s motorcycle received little to no damage. The Grant County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on scene by Lancaster EMS and Lancaster Fire Department.
