Film incentive program established with new state budget

A film incentive program will attract Hollywood productions to the state. The new state budget provides funding for Wisconsin’s first state film office and establishes a $5 million tax incentive program aimed at encouraging filmmakers to choose Wisconsin locations for their projects. The initiative received bipartisan support from state lawmakers, signaling broad agreement on the potential economic benefits of attracting film and television productions to Wisconsin. Before this budget approval, Wisconsin stood among just 13 states nationwide that lacked film incentives.
