A 75-year-old woman died after a crash in Grant County on Saturday that likely was caused by a medical event, authorities reported. At 7:52 PM the Grant County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Center received a crash detection notification from an iPhone in the area of Baker Ford Road and Whig Road. Deputies found the crash and determined that 75-year-old Linda Bottomley, of Platteville, was heading west when her vehicle crossed the center line and left the road. The vehicle continued into the ditch and crossed a creek before coming to a stop. Bottomley was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and suffered injuries to her upper body. Bottomley was taken to Southwest Health Center by Southwest Health EMS, where she died.
