Dodgeville Chamber warns of scam text

The Dodgeville Chamber of Commerce is reporting a scam phone number pretending to be them. According to a Facebook post by the Dodgeville Chamber of Commerce, someone received a text message from a number claiming to be the Dodgeville Chamber. The text claimed to be a receipt. The Chamber would like the public to know the only time they would be texting you a receipt is if you request one to be sent to you after using their square machine at an event they are hosting or at the office to pay for something. A report has been filed with the Iowa County Sheriff’s Office. Anyone with questions is encouraged to contact the Chamber Office.
