More than a year after startup Wisconsin Battery Co. swooped into Fennimore with plans to fill a gap left by a shuttering Energizer facility, the company has dropped off the map. Grant County Economic Development Corp. Executive Director Ron Brisbois said, “They’ve fallen completely off the radar. I’ve heard nothing from them in 2025.” Fennimore Mayor Ryan Boebel also said he has not heard from CEO Jeff Greene or other representatives of the company in several months. The company’s website, winbat.co, is down. Greene’s LinkedIn profile lists his tenure as Wisconsin Battery Co. CEO as having ended in June 2025. The city of Portage also has given up on a Wisconsin Battery Co a facility after Greene stopped communicating.
