On Saturday just after 2:00 pm the Grant County Sheriff’s office was notified of a one vehicle crash involving a motorcycle, on Highway 133 north of Dogtail Road, in Potosi. 21-year-old Jett James Johnson, of Madison, was traveling south on Highway 133 on his motorcycle when he failed to negotiate a curve in the road and struck a guardrail. Johnson was wearing protective gear, but sustained serious injuries in the crash. Potosi Fire and Potosi EMS responded to the scene and requested assistance from UW-Med Flight. Potosi Fire secured a landing zone near the scene and Johnson was transported by Potosi EMS to the helicopter, where he was flown to UW-Hospital in Madison for treatment of his injuries. Assisting at the scene was the Potosi Fire Department, Potosi EMS and UW-Med Flight. The crash remains under investigation.
