Police said a man who threatened people with a knife later told authorities he would drive a vehicle into the Dubuque Law Enforcement Center and open fire. 44-year-old Dylon P. Bly was arrested late Saturday in the area of East 17th Street and Central Avenue on charges of possession of marijuana and two counts of assault while displaying a dangerous weapon. Bly subsequently was arrested on a charge of threat of terrorism. Court documents state that Bly threatened multiple people with a 7-inch knife in the area of West 17th and West Locust streets. After his arrest, he told officers, “When I am released, I will walk through the front door and open fire at (the police department),” documents state. Bly also threatened officers at the law center that he would drive “a vehicle through that front door at 130 mph,” documents state.
