Madison police are investigating a shooting incident that occurred around 1 a.m. Sunday on Capitol Square. Officers arrived to find a bullet had gone through the window of Lucille, a restaurant on the square, which struck while people were inside. Authorities said the shots came from the area near Pinckney Street and Main Street. Madison police indicated that the incident does not appear to be random. They believe it might have started at a different restaurant than the one struck with gunfire. No one inside at the time was hit and there were no reported injuries. The owner of Lucille confirmed to police that the bullet caused a full window shatter. A black SUV was seen leaving the area at a high rate of speed. Madison police reached out to Capitol police for video footage, but their cameras were not pointed in that direction. There is no one in custody at this time and the investigation is ongoing.
