Commercial building a total loss following fire

On Sunday, just before 1 AM, the Platteville Fire Department responded to a report of a structure fire on Cheese Factory Lane in Platteville. On arrival, crews found a 1-story commercial auto repair facility with heavy fire and smoke showing from the garage area of the building. Fire crews were able to quickly get the fire under control. Fire Crews were on scene for approximately 3 hours. The building and contents are considered a total loss estimated at $500,000. The fire remains under investigation. There were no firefighters or civilian injuries reported. Fire crews were assisted on scene by Belmont Fire, Cuba City Fire, Potosi Fire, Belmont EMS, and Southwest Health EMS
