The City of Beaver Dam chose a new city administrator, who will be responsible for overseeing city operations. The person they chose is the former Iowa County Administrator, who was terminated following a cyberattack that wiped out county systems. The ransomware attack in April took down county data including wiping property titles, making it impossible to title search and halting real estate closures. Following that attack, Iowa County terminated County Administrator Larry Bierke. Mayor of Beaver Dam Bobbi Marck said that she is excited to be welcoming Bierke into this role, and was aware of the incident during the hiring process. Bierke is expected to start his new position on September 16.
