Benton Man In One Vehicle Accident in Lafayette County

A man from Benton was cited with multiple traffic violations after a fiery, single-vehicle crash Sunday. 26 year old Brandon Lyne was cited with hit and run, operating a motor vehicle without insurance, failure to notify police of an accident, deviation from a designated lane and failure to keep a vehicle under control. According to the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department, Lyne was traveling north on County Highway H in Benton Township at about 2:45 a.m. Sunday when he failed to negotiate a curve. His vehicle entered a ditch, struck and utility pole and burst into flames.
