The Portage County District Attorney’s Office on Tuesday announced that criminal charges were filed against the mother of the formerly missing Portage County girl believed to have been with her uncle, leading to a statewide Amber Alert. 31-year-old Chelsea J. Lehmann faces charges of aiding or harboring a felon and encouraging a violation of probation, extended supervision, or parole. Lehmann and her underage children began living in a home in Almond recently, which was owned by 34-year-old Jordan Coyle, Ruby’s uncle. Coyle lived in the home despite being a registered sex offender and having conditions prohibiting him from living with children. The Wisconsin Department of Corrections issued an arrest warrant for Coyle when it was discovered that children were residing with him. While Coyle was hiding from law enforcement Ruby Lehmann went looking for him resulting in a statewide Amber Alert. There is no indication that Ruby was taken by Coyle from the residence by force or threats.
