Madison man sentenced for sexually assaulting infant

A Madison man will spend 70 years in prison after he was sentenced Monday for sexually assaulting an infant girl earlier this year. 22-year-old Skyler Klassen pleaded guilty to first-degree sexual assault of a child, child sexual exploitation, and possession of child pornography on May 12. He was accused of sexually assaulting Madison Bishop’s infant daughter. 21-year-old Madison Bishop was charged in April with conspiracy to commit first-degree child sexual assault and failure to protect a child. Prosecutors said that she encouraged Klassen to sexually assault her daughter. Online court records show that Klassen will serve 70 years in the prison followed by 40 years of extended supervision. His conditions include not having contact with the victim and mandatory registration as a sex offender. Bishop is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 10.
