Former State Representative Brett Hulsey announced campaign for governor

Former State Representative Brett Hulsey announced he is running for governor.  Hulsey was previously a member of the Wisconsin State Assembly from 2011-2015, and served on the Dane County Board for 14 years.  He joins a growing list of Democrats in the race for governor that includes Sara Rodriguez, David Crowley, Francesca Hong, Kelda Roys, and Ryan Strnad.  The former legislator identified housing and education as central issues in his campaign, drawing on his experience during one of Wisconsin’s most contentious legislative periods. Hulsey expressed particular concern about the current state of school funding in Wisconsin, criticizing a system that he says forces districts to repeatedly ask voters for basic operating expenses.
