New mural in downtown Platteville

An inconspicuous concrete wall in downtown Platteville received a colorful new facelift thanks to the collaboration of a nearby business owner and a local artist. The owner of Sweet Violet Floral Boutique beautified her business’ concrete wall with the help of Cuba City-based artist Courtney Knockel. The wall is now painted light violet and states “Welcome to the VILLE.” The mural has a postcard feel, while paying homage to the floral business and the Platteville community. Eventually, the store plans to add a selfie stand in front of the mural to encourage visitors.
