The interim president of Northeast Iowa Community College has been named the school’s president. The NICC board of trustees voted unanimously this week to appoint Dave Dahms as president until his anticipated retirement on June 30, 2027, according to a press release. Dahms has been serving as interim president since August 2024, after having led the school as acting president since November 2023. He assumed that role after NICC’s board voted to place former President Herbert Riedel on paid administrative leave, then voted to begin termination procedures. Prior to his appointment as interim president, Dahms served as NICC’s vice president of finance and administration.
