Friday afternoon, the Grant County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a two-vehicle rollover crash at the intersection of Highway 18 and Highway 35, in Patch Grove Township. Deputies arrived on scene and it was determined a vehicle driven by a 16-year-old from Bloomington, was stopped at the stop sign on Highway 35. The 16-year-old then attempted to cross Highway 18, but failed to see an oncoming vehicle traveling eastbound on Highway 18. When the teen entered the intersection, they struck the rear of a truck driven by 66-year-old Robert Greenwood of Dodgeville. As a result of the collision, Greenwood’s vehicle then struck the median and began to skid before rolling multiple times and coming to rest on its roof in the ditch. The teen refused medical attention, but Greenwood and his passenger were transported to Crossing Rivers Hospital, in Prairie Du Chien, for evaluation. The 16-year-old’s vehicle suffered moderate front end damage and Greenwood’s vehicle suffered heavy disabling damage. Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene. The teenager was cited for Failure to Yield Right of Way. The Grant County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by Bloomington Fire, West Grant EMS, and Gunderson Tri State EMS.
