Clarke University’s president departed the school this week. Officials for the Dubuque College announced Tuesday that Fletcher Lamkin had resigned his position and that the board of trustees accepted his resignation. An earlier version of the announcement said that as of Monday, Oct. 27, Lamkin “is no longer with the institution.” Lamkin joined Clarke as the university’s interim president in January 2023 after the resignation of Thom Chesney. In July 2024, Lamkin was named president. The release states that Vice President for Academic Affairs Yvonne Zimmerman has been named acting president while Clarke’s board of trustees determines next steps.
