A Milwaukee woman is charged with first-degree reckless homicide after prosecutors say she shot and killed her friend during a night at her north-side home. According to a criminal complaint, 32-year-old Jamica Mills is accused of killing 26-year-old Ariel Spillner on November 4th in Milwaukee. Spillner has ties to Iowa County and played basketball for Clarke University in Dubuque. The complaint states that Mills told detectives the two smoked weed together and “became paranoid”. She claimed she feared that Spillner might stab her with a pair of scissors that were being used to cut her dog’s fur— though she admitted Spillner never threatened her or displayed a weapon. Spillner was pronounced dead at the scene.
