Representatives from Dubuque’s destination marketing organization shared how a grant from the DRA will help them attract visitors to the area. The DRA, the nonprofit license-holder for Dubuque’s two casinos, awarded Travel Dubuque $28,809 last year, according to Taylor Kellogg, Travel Dubuque’s vice president of marketing. The majority of that grant funding went toward videos marketing Dubuque as a top business and leisure travel destination, while other funds went to signage for the organization’s welcome center. “Two of (the) segments that we work to recruit to the community are meetings and group tours,” Kellogg said during a DRA board meeting Tuesday. “So those are the two segments that we focused this grant on.” The end product of the grant funding will ultimately help bring more visitors to Dubuque, Kellogg said.
