Avalon Cinema in Platteville is turning 95. To celebrate the theater is holding a 95th anniversary celebration tomorrow. The event starts at 5 PM with cocktails and a brief history of the theater. At 7 PM the theater will be airing the first movie shown there in 1930, “Up The River,” starring Humphrey Bogart and Spencer Tracy.
