A Wisconsin man who authorities said faked his own death and fled to Europe was released from jail last week, online records show. 45-year-old Ryan Borgwardt was out of custody as of Dec. 2, online records show. He had been sentenced in August to spend 89 days in a county jail after pleading no contest to obstructing an officer.
