According to an announcement tied to a recent industry deal, BeatStars has acquired the AI music startup Lemonaide AI, bringing the company’s technology fully in-house after more than a year of collaboration.
The acquisition formalizes a partnership that began in 2023, when the two companies started working on generative music tools built around producer consent and attribution. What this really means is that BeatStars is doubling down on an approach to AI that keeps creators involved in how models are trained and how outputs are used.
As part of the deal, Lemonaide AI’s co-founders are joining BeatStars in leadership roles, where they will continue developing AI features designed specifically for music creators. The focus remains on transparency, licensing, and compensation rather than fully automated music generation.
