A Lone Rock man and two women from Crawford County are in trouble with the law after lying about a one-vehicle crash. The Crawford County Sheriff’s Office says 58-year-old Catherine Stevenson and 20-year-old Cheyenne Stevenson – both of Gays Mills – told officers another driver forced them off the road causing a crash. But, further investigation led authorities to learn 22-year-old Charles Towsley was driving the vehicle and the women lied to help him out. Towsley was later found hiding in the basement of Stevenson’s home. He was arrested for operating while intoxicated, operating after revocation, resisting arrest and was placed on a felony probation hold. Cheyenne Stevenson was arrested for obstructing an officer and cited for falsifying an accident report. Catherine Stevenson was cited for falsifying an accident report and obstructing an officer. The Crawford County Sheriff’s Office says further charges are pending as Towsley reportedly lost control of the vehicle in Utica Township, striking a fence and hitting some farm equipment.
