2026 is a big election year for Wisconsin, with control of both houses of the Legislature as well as the governor’s office up for grabs, along with congressional races that will help determine the balance of power in Washington, DC. The first statewide contest is the April 7th state Supreme Court race. Also, on April 7th 72 school districts in the state will be holding a referendum. That includes a building referendum in Darlington and operational referendums in Cassville, Prairie Du Chien, Wauzeka-Steuben, Dodgeville, Benton, Shullsburg and Black Hawk. In other political news, a three-judge panel in Wisconsin dismissed a lawsuit seeking to redraw the state’s congressional boundaries before the 2026 midterms, citing lack of authority on the matter.
