The Iowa County Sheriffs Department closed Exit 40 north on Highway 151 for several hours due to a serious crash. The Sheriff’s Office announced the closure at 6:45 AM this morning and dispatch confirmed the roadway was reopened later this afternoon. This is a developing story and as more information becomes available we will update this story.
An update from the Iowa County Sheriff’s Office this afternoon says they responded to a fatal hit and run near Mineral Point. At a later time, they were able to locate the suspect vehicle in Ridgeway. Their post around 5 PM Tuesday says there is currently a large amount of emergency responders on scene in Ridgeway as they process evidence at the traffic stop location, which is westbound 18-151, near Exit 52. There is no danger to the public and a press release will be forthcoming this evening.
