Detectives from the Grant County Sheriff’s Department have arrested two men from La Crosse for their role in the overdose death of 23 year old Cierra Schiffler at a residence in Boscobel. On November 21st, investigators with the Grant County Sheriff’s Office went to a residence on Cedar Road in Boscobel for a death investigation. The investigation identified Schiffler, who had died from an overdose of heroin which contained Fentanyl. After an in-depth investigation detectives this week arrested 23 year old Austin Janick of La Crosse and 29 year old Travis Heal of La Crosse for first degree reckless homicide in the death of Schiffler. The case against Janick and Heal has been referred to the Grant County District Attorney’s Office. Assisting the detectives from the Grant County Sheriff’s Office were investigators from the Richland-Iowa-Grant Drug Task Force, the La Crosse Police Department, La Crosse County Sheriff’s Office, Holmen Police Department, the Wisconsin Department of Justice-Division of Criminal Investigation, Onalaska Police Department and the Grant County Coroner’s Office.
