Five southwest Wisconsin counties will get a combined $2.3-million dollars from the state Department of Transportation. According to a release from Governor Evers’ office, the funds for local government road projects are quarterly payments that are part of the DOT’s budget. Grant County will receive about $754-thousand dollars – with roughly $75-thousand of that going to the City of Lancaster, and $177-thousand for the City of Platteville. Iowa County’s portion of the DOT funding is $513-thousand dollars … Lafayette County getting $318-thousand … Crawford County receiving $396-thousand … and Richland County will get $311-thousand. Statewide, more than $160-million dollars was distributed for transportation aid in this quarter’s payment.
