The Illinois Department of Public Health has announced that student-athletes from Warren High School and Scales Mound High School could not participate in the Wisconsin High School football season this fall, even though the athletes participate in high school athletic programs that are governed by the WIAA. Warren High School students play football for the Black Hawk/Warren coop program, while Scales Mound High School students play football with the Benton/Shullsburg/Scales Mound football tri-op. The State of Illinois has decided to delay fall sports until next spring, while many rural school districts in Wisconsin plan to play high school football this fall.
