Platteville Scam

Authorities say a social media scam is pretending to be linked to Platteville High School and the district’s athletic department. In a letter, officers say the page offers viewers a live stream to watch sports events. However, this page requires credit card information and charges a fee to view the games. Police say this is a scam page. The only Facebook page associated with Platteville High School is the official Platteville School District page. The system that the district uses to stream sporting events is no charge to viewers. Officials are working to have this scam page taken down.
