Only minor injuries were reported Friday afternoon after a Lancaster woman struck an Amish buggy. According to a Grant County Sheriff’s Office report, 44-year-old Lisa Cooley was driving north on Old Potosi Road in rural Lancaster about 3p Friday. Officials say a horse and buggy – being operated by 43-year-old Elvin Martin of Lancaster – was traveling on a driveway towards the road. However, the horse would not stop and continued into the roadway. Cooley was unable to avoid a collision. The sheriff’s report said Martin had 4 passengers in the buggy with him – but neither driver nor any passengers had serious injuries. An initial report said the horse will also be fine. The crash does remain under investigation.
