Report: Aaron Rodgers considering retirement unless Packers make changes to ‘his liking’

GREEN BAY, Wis. — It’s been 24 hours and Aaron Rodgers is still a Green Bay Packer.

The anxiety of how long exactly that will be the case has only grown since reports first appeared Thursday suggesting the league MVP wants out of Titletown.

A report from CBS Sports on Friday said Rodgers is considering retirement unless the Packers fix things to “his liking.” Whether that means being traded to another team or changes within the actual franchise remains to be seen.

Rodgers has two options to get out of Green Bay: get traded or retire, and the latter will cost him a lot of money. Should he retire, Rodgers will owe the franchise $11.5 million for this season as well as $11.5 million for next season. Packers General Manager Brian Gutekunst is not planning for either of those outcomes.

Gutekunst said the report of the team trading Rodgers was completely false. As for the man himself, Rodgers will be at the Kentucky Derby on Saturday where all eyes will be on him and the horses.
