One Dead, One Wounded In Potosi Shooting Incident

One person is dead and another injured after a shooting incident in Potosi early Friday. The Grant County Sheriff’s Office reports they received a 911 call around 3:30am Friday. The dispatcher said it was an open line and they could hear argument. Deputies went to the area of North Main Street – north of County Road U in Potosi. As officials were outside the home, listening for any disturbance, they heard a gunshot, followed by a woman screaming and another gunshot. Deputies entered the home and found a deceased male with a gunshot wound. They also found a 37-year-old female with a gunshot wound. The female was taken to Grant Regional Health Center and later air-lifted to UW Hospital in Madison. The sheriff’s office is continuing to investigate, but they say there is no threat to the public.
