An attempted burglary in Newton Iowa recently went south for the perp, when the homeowner demonstrated his mastery of Aikido on the suspect! (OUCH)Â According to KCCI television, the homeowner: Phillipe Coulliez used to be in the French Army, and was a master (and teacher) of the martial art of Aikido. He used those skills to subdue the apparently drunk intruder, and was able to call 911 at the same time. Newton police say Joseph Mahl faces charges for first-degree burglary and public intoxication. He’s also lucky that Phillipe didn’t have a French baguette at the time, since he knows how to use those like a pair of nun-chucks!
