Congressman Ron Kind of La Crosse has announced the successful inclusion of over $16.5 million for 12 community projects across Wisconsin’s Third Congressional District in the House Committee on Appropriations Fiscal Year 2023. Six of the appropriations bills passed the House of Representatives yesterday with the rest expected to be considered shortly. Funding for the projects include;
Nearly $5 million to the city of Prairie du Chien to support the construction of a new Public Safety Center for Fire, Police, and other Emergency Services;
Over $2 million to Grant County for the final phases of the replacement of Grant County’s public safety communications system;
$1.2 million to the City of Viroqua to help address three separate sewer issues in Viroqua;
$1.7 million to the Village of Viola to help the community recover from devastating floods and develop sites that would not be impacted by future flood events, and;
$750,000 to the Southwestern Wisconsin Community Action Program to help expand the current Lancaster Senior Village and create additional affordable rental housing for seniors in Wisconsin’s Third Congressional District.
Kind says the House Appropriations Bills would make a huge impact on communities in Wisconsin’s Third Congressional District.
