Catholic School in Guttenberg Closing Due To Lack of Teachers

St. Mary’s Catholic IC School in Guttenberg is closing due to a lack of teachers. The school board came to this decision after only one licensed teacher was available for the school. The board said they have worked tirelessly and followed up on every lead for more teachers. The school listed other options at area schools for the upcoming school year for children to receive a proper education: Those schools include LaSalle, at Holy Cross, which is 16 miles away, Xavier, at Dyersville, which is 23 miles away, and Beckman, at Dyersville, which is 23 miles away.
