GREEN BAY, Wis. — Three-time Pro Bowler David Bakhtiari took another step on his road to recovery Sunday.
The Packers offensive tackle, who has been hampered by an ACL injury since 2020, was taken off of the physically unable to perform list, head coach Matt LaFleur said. Bakhtiari began training camp on the PUP list after appearing in last season’s regular-season finale against Detroit. He did not appear in the Packers’ Divisional Round playoff game.
“It’s just the next step,” LaFleur said. “But we’re excited to get him out there.”
Bakhtiari will only participate in individual drills for the next few days as the team monitors his progression. LaFleur could not give a firm timeframe for the former Colorado Buffalo’s full return.
The Packers wrap up the preseason on Thursday when they play the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium. The regular season starts with a trip to Minnesota to take on the Vikings on September 11.
