The Grant County Sheriff’s Department took a report of a two vehicle crash involving livestock on Highway 18 at Brown School Road in the town of Fennimore Friday around 9pm. 48 year old Ryan Brudos of Muskego, Wisconsin was traveling west on Highway 18 in a truck when he came upon a group of cattle in the roadway. Brudos was unable to avoid striking one of the animals. When Brudos struck a cow, it sent the animal into the eastbound lane of travel on Highway 18. 50 year old Scott Jones, of Evansville was traveling east on Highway 18 and struck the same cow. Jones lost control of his vehicle and entered the south ditch where he struck a road sign. Brudos and his three passengers were not injured in the crash. Everyone in the Brudos vehicle was wearing seatbelts. The Brudos vehicle had disabling damage and was removed from the scene by Collision Specialist of Fennimore. Jones was alone in his vehicle. Jones had minor injuries and was wearing his seatbelt. The Jones vehicle also had disabling damage and was removed from the scene by Collision Specialist of Fennimore. The cow involved in the crash died at the scene. The owner of the cattle, Jacob Esch, of rural Fennimore was cited for Livestock at Large. The Grant County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by Fennimore Police and Collision Specialist of Fennimore.
