Green Bay Packers Foundation matching donations made Tuesday to Center for Black Excellence and Culture

MADISON, Wis. — The Center for Black Excellence and Culture is still raising money for its planned new facility, and the Green Bay Packers are helping to make every dollar stretch even further.

The Green Bay Packers Foundation is matching all gifts made Tuesday up to $250,000 to help the center get closer to opening its cultural home for the Black community.

“The fact that the Green Bay Packers (are) just thinking about Madison, and wanting Wisconsin to be a place for people, (where) Black people want to live, it’s very important,” said Alex Gee, the center’s founder and CEO.

So far, the center has raised more than $23 million in less than a year. Those behind the effort hope to break ground in 2023.
