After starting November by catching 2 passes for 24 yards against the Detroit Lions before being taken out of the game as a precaution following what was feared to be a concussion, Watson flashed his game-breaking speed in the Packers’ 31-28 overtime upset of the Dallas Cowboys on November 13, catching 4 passes for 107 yards and 3 touchdowns. He followed that up with another multi-touchdown performance a few days later in a Thursday night game against the Tennessee Titans, catching 4 passes for 48 yards and 2 scores.
This past Sunday night against the Philadelphia Eagles, the best team so far this year in the NFC, Watson gave Packers fans a glimpse of the future when he took a pass from Jordan Love and sped past Eagles defenders for a 63-yard touchdown. He finished that game with 4 catches for 110 yards and that touchdown, earning Rookie of the Week honors for that effort.
Add all of that up, and Watson finished November with 14 catches on 22 targets for 289 yards and 6 touchdowns.
Watson is the first Packers rookie to catch at least one touchdown pass in three straight games since Billy Howton in 1952, and he’s the first Packer to win Rookie of the Month honors since cornerback Demarious Randall did it in November 2015. He’s just the third Packers offensive player to receive the honor, joining running back Samkon Gado in November 2005 and running back Eddie Lacy in October 2013.
