Monday marked the first time since December 12 that the Badgers have not risen in the AP poll. Wisconsin began the season unranked, but entered the poll at No. 22 following an 8-2 start. From there they rose to No. 17, then No. 15, before climbing to No. 14 last week.
Wisconsin is one of two Big Ten teams that remain in the Top 25 after 10 weeks of play. The Purdue Boilermakers, who held the No. 1 spot for three-straight weeks, dropped to No. 3 on Monday after a 65-64 loss to Rutgers on Jan. 2.
Wisconsin is one of five states with multiple ranked schools, after Marquette re-entered the poll this week at No. 25. The other states with multiple ranked schools are Alabama, California, Kansas and Texas.
The Badgers return to the Kohl Center on Tuesday to host Michigan State. The Spartans are riding a six-game winning streak of their own. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m. CT.
