The Wisconsin Department of Revenue reports major gains in the money collected from businesses that haven’t been paying their taxes. The department recently got increased funding for auditing, and Secretary Peter Barca says they’ve collected nearly 400 million dollars in the process, a return on investment of 34 to 1. Barca says this is good for the state, because this is money Wisconsin was due in the first place, and it’s money that Wisconsin residents don’t have to pay in taxes, in the end.
