The Grant County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a one vehicle crash with a vehicle on its side on County Highway C, just west of Borah Ridge Road near Prairie du Chien Tuesday just after 8am. A report says 26 year old Mikayla Mullikin of Bagley was driving her vehicle on County Highway C about ¼ mile west of Borah Ridge Road. She was negotiating a right curve, driving the speed limit on roads that appeared clear when she drove over some ice that was hard to see and lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle spun around, facing the opposite direction, entered a ditch on the south side of the highway, started along the embankment on that side of the road and came to rest, tipping on to the passenger side. Mullikin was initially unable to exit the vehicle, but was eventually able to free herself and her one-year-old daughter who was a passenger, with the help of passersby. Mullikin was taken to a local hospital for evaluation after reporting a possible injury. The baby rode with the mother in the ambulance. The Grant County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office, the Bloomington Fire Department, Bagley First Responders, West Grant EMS, and B&M Towing of Bloomington.
