Donations are sought to assist residents displaced by an apartment fire Sunday in Elizabeth. The Village of Elizabeth is accepting monetary donations to help the residents affected when a fire struck the Grand View Estates apartment complex around 3 a.m. Sunday. Elizabeth Mayor Mike Dittmar said the fire displaced 20 residents. Dittmar said some residents lost all their possessions. Cash, checks and gift cards can be dropped off between 8:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday at the village office, 200 East Myrtle Street. Donations may be mailed to Village of Elizabeth, P.O. Box 236, Elizabeth, IL 61028.
