Saturday night around 7:10 PM, Deputies with the Green County Sheriff’s Department were requested to assist the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office with an active burglary on Lacey Road in South Wayne. Upon arrival by Deputies, it was determined the suspected offender, 44 year old John Thompson Jr. of Browntown, had a right to be in the home and it was a misunderstanding. It was then learned that Thompson had an active body–only warrant for Failure to Appear, Retail Theft, and Bail Jumping. Thompson was subsequently arrested and taken to the Green County Jail where he will be held until his initial court appearance.
