The Darlington Police Department will be providing a free Safe Rides program during the Lafayette County Fair this week. On Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, between 9 pm and 3 am, free rides home will be available from the Lafayette County Fairgrounds and licensed establishments within the city. Those who use the service may leave their car parked on the street overnight and no parking citation will be issued. Funding for the program was provided by a grant the police department received from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation. Davis Bus Lines has been contracted to provide shuttles and may be reached at one of two numbers, 608-726-2112 or 608-726-2098. You can also flag down one of the shuttle vans with Safe Rides signs on them.
